May 2016
                              Congratulations to David Gay

                                                Audrey and David Gay
From the pastor:

During Community Law Week at the end of April, the Greenville County Bar Association recognized our David Gay with its Paul Wickensimer Award.
The award honors someone outside the judicial system for contributions to justice in Greenville.
As the seven judges and numerous attorneys who recommended David can attest, that would definitely be him.
For 10-plus years, David has been channeling those with drug and alcohol addictions into rehab facilities all over the Carolinas and Georgia -- more than 1,000 people in all. Not surprisingly, most of them have had run-ins with the legal system. So David visits our jails, follows people to court, talks to probation officers, and otherwise works with attorneys and judges to offer alternatives to incarceration.
One day I visited recently retired Reid Lehman at Miracle Hill's Overcomers program, and he commented, "At our last graduation, David Gay had placed about half the class."
David created his own model -- finding a man or woman a rehab bed, shopping and packing a suitcase full of clean clothes, toiletries and a Recovery Bible, and then, along with his wife, Audrey, hand-delivering them to a facility.
We are so proud that he bases this important work at Triune.

        Blessings,
        Deb
